Need a quick get-away from the city? Want to smell the pines and listen to the wind in the trees? Want your kids to see the snow and go sledding in the winter? SERENITY COTTAGE is just 2 hours driving (~100 miles) from the San Diego, Orange County or Los Angeles areas and only one hour (~50 miles) from the Palm Springs/Palm Desert areas. About an hour from Temecula and 30 minutes from Hemet.
Located just outside of Idyllwild town, with restaurants, specialty and antique shops, art galleries, a quaint movie theatre, and the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Mile-High Idyllwild is named as one of the 100 Best Small Art Towns in America. Concerts, art and plays available at the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Music opportunities available year round, including the "Jazz in the Pines" Festival each August.
1/2 mile from Humber Park and numerous hiking, biking and rock climbing trails into the San Jacinto Wilderness. Hike the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail, the challenging Devils Slide or other scenic trails. Climbers go to Lily Rock (Taquitz Peak) or Suicide Rock. Nearby Strawberry Creek is full in the Spring. A wonderful Nature Center is located nearby in the County Park area. State Park also just outside of town.
Lakes and streams nearby for fishing, including Lake Fulmor and Lake Hemet. Horseback riding outside of town at the Hay Dude Ranch
ABOUT SERENITY COTTAGE
~1000 sq.ft., 45 years old but looks new. Forced air heating. TV, VCR, DVD, stereo, books, videos, games, cards and other entertainment provided in the cabin. Snow sleds, chairs and BBQ outside. A hammock swings between two tall cedars. Gorgeous knotty pine interior. Furnished with antiques and charming amenities, including a full kitchen and all linens. Big fireplace for those chilly nights.
Lovely deck with views of Lily Rock. Forested yard, 0.7 acres, with tall, ancient cedars, pines and oaks. Lots of wildlife and birds to watch.
Full bath with large tub and shower.
Sleeps up to 6: queen bed in master bedroom, twin beds in 2nd bedroom, and queen sofa bed in living room.
Rates: $150 to $195 per night, depending on number of people and season.
Sorry, no pets.
